sundance_film_festivalThe 2009 Sundance film festival kicked off on Friday in Park City, Utah. Filmmakers from around the world gather there to debut their latest projects, ski, mingle and in the end, get drunk and run around in the snow naked. Ok, well maybe not that last one.We have been to the festival several times since its conception in the early eighties and its always been a blast.

This guys going.

This guys going.

A.i. was @ Sundance in 2004 to debut ‘HUMAN ERROR’ which we did the score and sound design for. The film is a comedy about two men who leave their lives behind for new jobs at a corporation which exists in an animated world – and are pitted against one another by their scheming, insecure boss. The film stars Xander Berkeley, Tom Bower and Robert Knott. And is directed by our father,¬† Robert M. Young.

Aside from the title track ‘Human Error’, the score was a big departure from our signature sound. Most of it was made using orchestral instruments along with factory sounds and instruments used in traditional Tango music, such as the bandoneon. The film has yet to be officially released.
